GOVERNANCE AND DECISION MAKING BODIES IN SAF

Based on Afghanistan NGOs law under which SAF is registered, it is important to adhere to principles of good governance to pursue the SAF’s mission and act with responsibility to all stakeholders. SAF believes in a participatory approach to decision-making. Therefore, the majority of decisions in the organization are made in a democratic manner at various levels:1) General Council, the Board of Trustees, 2) Management Board and 3) Executive Board. The Board of Trustees consists of volunteers and they are involved in policy formulation, strategic thinking and decision-making as well as oversight of the organization. The Management and Executive Boards deal with day-to-day management as well as monitoring and evaluating the organization’s operation.

The executive board consists of the managers of various sections and provincial/ regional managers who implement the programs.
