OUR HISTORY

 

Solidarity for Afghan Families (SAF) is a non-governmental, non-political and non for profit organization with an independent legal identity. It was registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan on October 31st, 2005 (Reg. No. 148) and signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Public Health on November 27th, 2005 (MoU No. 12). The last MoU with MoPH was signed on 8 Jun 2023.

SAF respects all national and international rules and regulations linked with the Non-Governmental Organizations and it strictly follows the NGOs’ law.

Considering the huge developmental gap in Afghanistan, SAF believes in multi-sectoral approach for faster development of the country and therefore, focuses on four areas of work; 1) Health; 2) Education; 3) Social Development; and 4) Agriculture & husbandry.

SAF since its establishment has successfully implemented approximately 64 developmental and humanitarian projects in different provinces of Afghanistan and hence has been able to effectively manage around 77 million US dollars.

SAF has multi donors experience since its establishment including WB, USAID, GF, UNOCHA, UNFPA, UNODC, UNDP, UNICEF, WFP, ARD, MI-Canada, WHO, etc.
